Martin J. Degnan, Chair
Marty started his connection with The Village Network in the 1990s as a Corporation Board member when we were Boys’ Village. Since then he has served on the Strategic Planning, Property, Governance/Nominating and the Executive Committees. His other community affiliations include positions on Wooster Board of Education, Wooster City Planning Commission, the United Way of Wayne & Holmes Counties Board, the Catholic Charities Board and President of Wooster Rotary Club. He currently serves on the Notre Dame Cathedral Latin Board in Geauga County and the Art Therapy Studio Board in Cuyahoga County. Marty is a corporate law attorney.
Honorable K. William Bailey, Immediate Past Chair
Bill is a retired Juvenile Court Judge in Wayne County and an untiring supporter of TVN. Over the years he has been instrumental in strategic planning and Board development. Most recently he served as Chair for the Board of Directors. He also serves on the Restorative Justice Foundation and teaches law at the University of Akron Law School.
Ronald Baum
Ron and his wife Faye have been fixtures on Boys’ Village Campus for years. Ron is our main connection to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ohio State Aeries which has been instrumental in the building and upkeep of the Wooster campus. Ron has served on almost every Eagle board and committee including the Charity Fund Board and the Internal Audit Committee. His wife Faye serves on TVN’s Corporation Board.
Brian Bogner
Brian is the director of Costing & Estimating at Bogner Construction Company, a fourth-generation, family-owned company. He develops initial cost and schedule projections and monitors the process beginning at the architectural and engineering stage complete through the construction phase. His attention to details and engineering background serve TVN well.
Jim Carmichael
Jim is a Wayne County Commissioner and a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives. While in the Ohio House, Carmichael served as the Assistant Majority Whip, Majority Whip and Assistant Majority Floor Leader. Carmichael has also served the community as President of the Wayne County Mayor’s Association and President of the Shreve Friends of the Library. He has also been a member of the Shreve Fire and Police Departments, and the Wayne County Citizens Task Force.
Cheryl Goff, Secretary
Cheryl has dedicated her professional life to helping children and families. She is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) for Catholic Charities Services in Wooster and works very closely with Wayne County Schools Career Center and Orrville City Schools. She assists students and families with academic, attendance and behavior concerns.
Gordon Holly
Gordon has spent over 26 years working inside the student services field at Finlay College, Ohio University, Community College of Philadelphia and presently at Akron University Wayne College campus in Orrville. He provides leadership to various student services and implements recruitment and retention programs to support student success.
Judy Kropf
Kropf is a very familiar name at TVN, with several generations of the family providing leadership to the organization. Judy has been actively involved in work and support of the agency since 1970. She has dedicated 15 years of service as a social worker in several programs, has served on the Properties Committee and currently serves as the chairperson of the Organizational Advancement Committee.
Doug Mill, Treasurer
In addition to serving as Treasurer, Doug provides support as an active member of the Organizational Advancement Committee. He is CEO of ADR & Associate, Ltd., in Newark. Doug is a former Board President for Welsh Hills School and a former Board Member of the Newark-Heath Airport and Newark Alliance.
Lynn Moomaw, Vice Chair
Lynn is a life-long resident of Wayne County. She was drawn to TVN because of the “scope of work and impact on the lives of both the children receiving treatment and their families.” Lynn is the Director of Operations & Adult Education at Wayne County Career Center. She sits on 16 boards and committees and has been past-president of several. Currently she is President of the Smithville Board of Public Affairs and President-Elect for the Wooster Rotary.
Rob Petit
Rob brings 30-plus years of human resource experience to the Board. He is Vice President of Human Resources for the Seaman Corporation and sits on the Wooster City Schools Advisory Council /Human Resource Committee. His expertise is wellness programs and lowering the overall cost for healthcare.
Peggy J. Schmitz
Peggy has been involved with TVN for many years. She has served as the chair of the Foundation Board and was an active committee member for our most recent capital campaign. She is an attorney and partner at Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston in Wooster, a past Executive Director of Wooster-Wayne Legal Aid Society Inc. and a former Wayne County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. She is member and past president of Wooster Rotary Club, a member and past president of the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and a member and past president and campaign chairperson for the United Way of Wayne & Holmes Counties.
Cheryl Shapiro
Cheryl is a long-standing supporter and friend to TVN with a family legacy of involvement. She is an emeritus member of Wayne Center for the Arts and a past board member for Every Women’s House, People to People and Knesseth Israel Temple.
Jeff Steiner, Foundation
Jeff is a City of Wooster Councilman, 4th Ward and adjunct instructor for Akron University. He has a bachelor’s in economics from The College of Wooster, a master’s in finance from the University of Akron and his ChFC and CLU from the American College in Pennsylvania. Jeff currently chairs the Foundation Board.
Andrea Stone
Andrea is an attorney with Ulmer & Berne LLP, focusing on business litigation, employment and labor law, and special education law. She represents companies of all sizes in various aspects of litigation including discovery, motion practice and trial preparation. She received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law and her bachelor’s from Miami University.
