We Care
At The Village Network, the health and safety of our clients and staff are of the utmost importance to us. As coverage of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues, we want to assure you that we are following the careful guidance of local and state departments of health along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and doing our part to prevent the spread of the virus.
New Procedures
We are currently implementing the following procedures to create the highest level of safety possible, while still providing care to our youth and families.
Visitation to Residential Facility:

Family Visitation
- Is allowed and determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Is limited to those allowed to visit according to case plan.
- Is limited to direct family unless approved prior to the visit.
- All visitors are to wear a mask upon arrival, if needed The Village Network will provide one.
- The client and his visitors will go through a basic screening about whether they have symptoms of respiratory illness and may have their temperature scanned which will be documented on the visitor log.
- Social distancing is to be maintained minimum of 6 feet apart.
- Client and visitors should wear mask when within 6 feet of each other, unless a physical barrier is present.
- Hand sanitizer will be available at all visitation areas.
- Visitation areas are disinfected by The Village Network after each visit.
- Additionally: The Village Network residential campuses are equipped with secure video conferencing that can be accessed by smart phone or computer. Please call the residents placement facility to schedule.

Placing Agency and Probation/Parole Officers
- Visitation is allowed.
- Please make an appointment.

Medical Appointments
- Medically necessary visits will occur.
- Annual physicals, optical, dental may be postponed after evaluation by a nurse in consultation with the provider.

Home Visits
- Home visits will be allowed unless a family member has COVID symptoms or is under quarantine orders.

Off Campus Trips
- All community service outside the facility is cancelled.
- Clients with jobs outside the facility have returned to work.
- All recreational activities outside the facility are suspended.

Staffing
- All staff have been instructed to stay home if sick and cannot return to work until fever free for 24 hours without medication.
- Residential staff working with children will have a temperature scan to ensure they are fever free when reporting to work.

Placement
- The Village Network is still accepting placements of residents. We ask the placing agency to ensure the client has been fever free for at least 24 hours and has not been exposed to COVID-19 in the past 14 days prior to placement date.

COVID-19 Exposure
- The Village Network will follow the guidance of the local and state health departments.
Outpatient Clients
All offices of The Village Network are currently open for services. When possible, we will provide our services through our telehealth video conferencing option or by phone. Please call ahead to confirm your appointment.
For those who are experiencing fever, cough, or shortness of breath, we ask that you contact your local TVN office or therapist ahead of your already scheduled session to setup a telehealth appointment which allows you to use a laptop, tablet, or smartphone for your session, or to reschedule your appointment to a later date. School Based Clients
TVN is providing school services as permitted by each school partner and in compliance with all school quarantines. Our school-based therapists are prepared to offer services through our telehealth video conferencing option or by phone. Face-to-face services may be offered but youth and families will need to consult with their therapist to discuss the best options for services taking into consideration their mental and physical health needs. Please contact your school or therapist for more information or to schedule or reschedule an appointment.

Referral Agencies
Currently, we are accepting all referrals for placements into our residential facilities during the COVID-19 crisis. To make a referral or to learn more about our Residential Treatment services, please contact Sandy Sims at 330-201-5860 or by email at ssims@thevillagenetwork.com.
Foster Parents
Foster care preservice training has resumed with both in-person and virtual options available. In person Foster Care parent meetings and appointments may have been cancelled. Donors, Vendors & Volunteers
All decisions regarding events will be made with the health and safety of our youth and their families, donors, staff, volunteers, and venue partners in mind, and we will follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
