Planned Intervention Respite Care

Care for youth up to age 21

We are experienced providers of respite care, a hallmark of The Village Network’s community based services. Respite care is planned intervention and is available to youth ages 0-21 who are living with their biological family, relatives or in a foster care home. Respite is also available as an aftercare support service for youth reunifying with their parents or to a permanent caregiver situation. Services are available on an hourly and/or overnight basis.

Respite care is available at all The Village Network locations and in crisis situations. Our large Treatment Foster Care network allows for emergency and transitional respite care.

Respite Care Providers
The Village Network utilizes existing foster care network and foster parents as respite providers. We carefully select and rigorously train our foster care parents. Detailed background checks, references, home inspections and consistent monitoring are just some of the ways The Village Network works to license quality foster parents.

The Village Network foster parents receive 70 hours of training prior to becoming licensed and continue to receive ongoing training in specialized topics such as: trauma, sexually reactive behavior, mental health, behavioral child care, engagement with biological families and kinship providers and community based treatment.

Foster parents attend weekly support meetings with our network of foster families to discuss their unique needs and situations and to receive support from other families and network staff. Ongoing training is provided during support meetings.
