What makes The Village Network’s services unique?
We’ve integrated the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics™ (NMT) and Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) to provide scientifically based assessments and trauma-informed approaches. The NMT offers a structured assessment of a child, that includes the articulation of the primary problems, identification of key strengths and the application of interventions (educational, enrichment and therapeutic) in a way that will help family, educators, therapists and related professionals best meet the needs of the child. CPS provides a relationally based approach that helps adults and children with challenging behaviors problem solve together in a deep and lasting manner.
How does The Village Network’s therapeutic team work with your school’s staff?
Our therapists are actively engaged with the school guidance department, teachers and administrative staff. It is through these communications that we have the ability to develop the most effective and efficient treatment option for each child and family. To ensure the whole child is cared for, we frequently collaborate with the family and other providers, such as occupational and speech therapists, for the best possible outcomes.
Does The Village Network offer any training for school staff?
The Neurosequential Model in Education (NME) draws upon the NMT (a neurodevelopmentally-informed, biologically respectful perspective on human development and functioning) to help educators understand student behavior and performance.
What are your outcomes?
The goal of The Village Network’s school-based programs is to work in partnership with each school to improve their students’ overall mental health and functioning. Not only do our client schools see an improvement in participating students’ mental well-being, they also experience: (1) an increase in the academic achievement of the student, (2) a decrease in truancy and tardiness, and (3) a reduction in school suspension and class disruptions.
