The Village Network Recaps 2017 Successes at Annual Meeting
WOOSTER- On Thursday, December 7th, The Village Network staff, executives and board members met at the Annual Meeting event to reflect on milestones of fiscal year 2017, the most successful year in the organization’s more than 70-year history.
The Village Network concluded the 2017 fiscal year with more than $41 million in revenue and donations, a $3 million increase from 2016. The organization also cared for nearly 6,000 clients and expanded its services to offer care in 20 locations in Ohio and West Virginia.
“As an organization, we are committed to meeting the ever-changing needs of the communities we serve,” said Richard Graziano, president and CEO of The Village Network. “One of our greatest achievements of fiscal year 2017 was that we made our services more accessible to more people than ever before. We brought our services to our clients and set the tone for how mental and behavioral healthcare will be practiced in years to come.”
In 2017, The Village Network made great strides in caring for girls as it opened new girls group homes in both Bethesda and Wooster, Ohio. The organization also built an on-site education facility for the girls in Salem, Ohio in order to give them access to individualized education while in The Village Network’s care.
In addition to expanding its girl’s programs, The Village Network also brought its services into the schools, the one place where youth spend most of their time. More than 76 Ohio schools now have on-site therapists, making The Village Network’s outpatient counseling services part of a child’s day to day schedule. In addition to having on-site therapists, eight schools are now implementing the Neurosequential Model in Education, created by Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D. and The ChildTrauma Academy, a way of caring for youth that focuses on a child’s brain development and not just behavior.
Since 1946, The Village Network has been a leader in equipping youth, families and adults with the necessary tools to overcome the challenges of life. Our premiere treatment plans coupled with compassionate care create opportunities for our clients to experience healing from their individual struggles and improve their behavioral, physical and emotional wellbeing. Our services are designed to promote permanent, healthy and productive environments for our clients and include outpatient behavioral healthcare, treatment foster care and residential care. All our services contribute to our mission to empower youth and their families to build brighter futures.
