Donate to Create the Perfect Place to Play at Boys’ Village

September 7, 2017

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]After more than 50 years of dodge ball tournaments, exercise classes and pickup games, The Village Network plans to demolish and reconstruct the Boys’ Village gym to build a more functional, efficient space for youth and staff. The Boys’ Village gym reconstruction project is estimated to cost $600,000 and will provide an adequate facility to exercise and play. The building will include a large gymnasium along with a health and wellness center accessible to both youth and staff.

Placed on the same footprint as the old structure, the new gym will be rebuilt with durable metal exterior walls and roof. A new double-plywood floor will offer high shock absorption to protect youth and staff from injury while exercising. The facility will also be equipped with LED lighting, which will reduce The Village Network’s energy costs and carbon footprint.

Once completed, the building will be named The Maruna Field House in honor of Bob Maruna’s 50 years of dedication to The Village Network. Bob first became involved with The Village Network in 1967 and continues to work as a part-time contractor for the Advancement Department.

Today, The Village Network has successfully raised $300,000, which allows us to break ground in the coming months. However, we are only halfway to funding the total project cost. Any donation amount is appreciated and will bring us one step closer to creating a perfect place for our youth to play.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”13780″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]
