Our Vision

Meet Our EVP of Learning: David Paxton, LISW-S

David Paxton, LISW-S, is the Executive Vice President of Learning for The Village Network (TVN) in Ohio. With decades of experience in behavioral and mental health programs, treatment foster care, and outpatient services, our team provides critical support to children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
Under Paxton’s leadership, The Village Network has become a leader in reducing the use of physical restraints and other high-risk interventions, while upholding clinical integrity and evidence-based practices. We are also the first organization in Ohio to become certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics by Dr. Bruce Perry, as well as the first organization with Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) Certified staff in Ohio.
Paxton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago. He has conducted hundreds of trainings at both local and national conferences and co-authored published research articles. As a certified mentor in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, he guides our center in offering NMT training and other innovative mental health training programs.
Meet Our Trainers of Collaborative Problem Solving:

Christopher Doud, MA, LPCC-S (OH), LPC (WV), LPC-S (SC), is the Clinical Intern Supervisor at The Village Network. with 20 years of clinical experience in residential and outpatient treatment settings. He provides clinical supervision for counseling interns and dependently licensed counselors across the agency as well as trains and coaches TVN staff in Collaborative Problem Solving and The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics.
Chris began his tenure at The Village Network in 2014, taking on his current role in August 2025. Previously, Chris held the Clinical Director position in TVN’s Southeast Region, was a clinical supervisor for the Saint Clairsville Outpatient Program, and a therapist for Bethesda Residential and Saint Clairsville Outpatient programs.
Chris earned trainer certification in Collaborative Problem Solving and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics in addition to various other trainings including in trauma informed models.

Laurann Young, MA, LPCC-S is the Director of Program Development and Fidelity for Residential Services for The Village Network.
Laurann began her career as a clinical case manager at St. Aloysius Orphanage and began working with The Village Network in 2016 as a clinical therapist at the Bethesda Residential location. She transitioned to the role of clinical supervisor at Bethesda Residential and was promoted to her role in 2023.
Laurann is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and as a Juvenile Sexual Offending Counselor, Phase Two Trainer in The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, and trainer in Collaborative Problem Solving through Think:Kids.
