Kasich’s Staff and State Directors to Visit The Village Network’s Reception Center
COLUMBUS- The Village Network’s Reception Center was chosen as the location for Ohio’s state to state union event as a way to recognize The Village Network’s progressive work in caring for at-risk youth involved in the state’s justice system.
The meeting will begin today at 4 p.m. at 1751 E. Long St. in Columbus and will include staff from Gov. John Kasich’s departments, state directors and Department of Youth Services staff, among others.
Established in 2013, the Reception Center serves as an alternative option for youth who were arrested in Franklin County and includes programming that prevents youth’s future arrests or involvement in the justice system.
“Research has shown that placing youth with low-level crimes in a detention center often times leads to additional arrests in the future,” said Richard Graziano, president and CEO of The Village Network. “Today, we serve roughly 1,000 youth every year through our Reception Center and have successfully helped each of them return to wellness.”
Since 1946, The Village Network has been a leader in caring for at-risk youth and their families in Ohio and West Virginia. Our premiere treatment plans paired with compassionate care create opportunities for our clients to experience healing from their individual traumas and improve their behavioral, physical and emotional health. Our services are designed to transition children to permanent, stable environments and include Community Services, Residential Treatment and Treatment Foster Care. All our services contribute to our mission to empower youth and their families to build brighter futures.
