The Village Network Awarded $10,000 Grant From Ronald McDonald House of Northeast Ohio, Inc.
WOOSTER- The Village Network recently received a $10,000 grant from the Ronald McDonald House of Northeast Ohio, Inc. The funds will be used to replace old fitness equipment at the Wooster Residential Campus.
The new equipment will replace the current machines in the fitness center within the reconstructed Bob Maruna Field House. The overall reconstruction project is expected to reach completion in May 2018.
“Our fitness center will serve as a tool to teach youth how to develop a healthy lifestyle and how to use exercise as a stress release and coping mechanism,” said Richard Graziano, president and CEO of The Village Network. “We expect 150 youth each day to use the center and its new machines.”
The original fitness equipment was also purchased through a grant from the Ronald McDonald House Charities in 2006. The relationship between the Ronald McDonald House of Northeast Ohio and The Village Network has resulted in more than $80,000 in funding over the course of nearly 30 years.
